What is the watch exactly doing? It looks like the thing you do with a magnifying glass to heat things.

here ( i use 1,000 then 1,500 then 2,000 grit) also use a little bit of elbo grease

i thought there were grooves nearly microscopic on the heatsink in order to increase surface area contact with the thermal grease
