yeah on water. This particular chip is pretty cool running though, I'm pretty sure someone with very good air cooling would be able to get this chip to the same speeds.
Just make sure it's an E0 stepping and ignore the VID, really doesn't mean squat for Wolfdales. This is the best clocking Wolfy I've had and it's 1.25VID and runs nice and cool.
I was stuck at 3.3 forever on my chip, finaly decided to lower my multi and get some decent ram, then found out it wasn't my chip... It was my old ram holding me way back... Although I was scared to death I was either gonna fry my memory controller or the processor it self the other night... Bluescreens with the vista logo ontop of them are rather funny...
That and I would like to think my water cooling loop helped me a lot... Had stock cooler last time I tried...
*Blinks* when the ****??? I have never seen anything above a 6400... even a 6400 was hard to find... BTW if I have to, I will dip my rad in ice water and voltmod my mobo and try to keep first
BTW I am talking about the Athlon x2 line, not the phenom.
