It should do two SM 2.0 tests, two CPU tests, then two SM 3.0 tests, and give you three sub-scores.

meh i dont really care anymore, i got a score of P15226 when i first got 3dmark, im gunna get 4 more gigs of ram and another 5870 and then ill worry about testing it again.
If your score started with a P, you're using Vantage, and the thread for that is over here:

If you want to calculate the 3DMark06 score you would get with different SM 2.0, 3.0 and CPU scores, this is the formula that's used:
Total Score = 2.5 x 1 / (( 1.7 / ((sm 2.0 + sm 3.0) / 2) + 0.3 / CPU Score ) / 2)
which is simplified to
Total Score = 5 / ( 3.4 / (sm 2.0 + sm 3.0) + 0.3 / CPU Score )
you can put it into excel in the form:
= round( 5 / ( 3.4 / (sm 2.0 + sm 3.0) + 0.3 / CPU Score ), 0)
