Re: The Tech Forums Official 3DMark06/03 Top List

This was my 24/7 settings up until I sold one of my 4850's. I'm just looking for a really powerful single card in the future when it is affordable to me.

I had a 22.5k run. I should of did a final run before I sold the 4850. bah, too late.

Btw. a 4ghz Q6600 with stock 4850's would bring my score to 21k :/ I did it when I first got them. I just don't run my q6600 @ 4ghz 24/7 *sigh*

3DMark03 score

I can't get the Orb to make this public. I think it's because the benchie doesn't recognize half of my hardware or speeds. Maybe the Results Analyzer page will link correctly.

Slaymate, your killing me!

push those gpus more!

i had my vanilla 280 up to 753core / 1349vram / 1512sp
and my 285 past that.

i know you have dual setup, but i know you can push them more!
do it! you can get your bandwidth up to 165ish!

Re: The Tech Forums Official 3DMark06/03 Top List

lol I don't think I will be the first one getting a GT300.

I promised myself not to ever spend more than 150 quid on a GFX card....the 4890 was 165 but I needed a gpu quick... :D

No way I will ever fork out for a brand new nvidia card on release! I expect it to launch at like 350quid minimum.....

Also nvidia have annoyed me recently as they have these HUGE dies and don't conform to the standard GPU bolt mounting pattern thing. I refuse to buy a 50-70 quid waterblock for a GPU that will be obsolete in a few months. I used my dangerden maze4 on my 7900GT...and it's still working several generations later.

Re: The Tech Forums Official 3DMark06/03 Top List

I'm running tri-285 with 300 dollars worth of waterblocks. Ya, i'm probably skipping a generation.

Re: The Tech Forums Official 3DMark06/03 Top List

and the winner is *ding ding* NosbOOST!

And that is what I was thinking. Gurusan tends to buy the cheaper mid end gpu's (like the 4850 and I think I saw him get a 3850 really high) and make them perform like high end gpu's. I am waiting for next gen nvidia, but I might buy a gtx280 to hold me off soon.

Gurusan, can't you buy mounting brackets for the gt200 cards to work with most older blocks? I know there is a mounting bracket for the mcw60 at least.

For a few, yeah...but cooling the rest of the components on the board is not easy or cheap. So far both the 38xx and 48xx have only needed a VRM sink...which cost me 6 gbp for both the 3/4850 and 3/4870 versions for the zalman vrm sinks which are quite good.

Here's to hoping they continue the trend and I can just reuse everything on the R8xx series.
