*The Official Tech-Forums 3DMark Vantage Rankings*

re: The Official Tech-Forums 3DMark Vantage Rankings

21,585 | SHAN1784 | Q6600 @ 4.162GHz | GTX 295 @ 660/1080 | Vista 64bit ORB

I'm actually at a 3.7Ghz oc but using a 8x multiplier. I was told that vista assumes that I am using a 9x multiplier which is why it reports my oc at 4.1Ghz...

re: The Official Tech-Forums 3DMark Vantage Rankings

funny thing is difolo's system only gets 600 points over mine in 3dmark 06.

Well thats with my 295 at 600mhz...I had it at like 660 to get 24k...ill try 06 again with my increase in video card speed.

re: The Official Tech-Forums 3DMark Vantage Rankings

Well, here's mine. Not as good as some others, I'm sure. It would probably be higher if my mobo was a PCI-X 2.0 instead of being a 1.0. I don't have an Orb link as I'm not registered on the website. This bench was run on February 06, 2009 at 5:54 P.M.

re: The Official Tech-Forums 3DMark Vantage Rankings

I only got 13k with my i7 at 4.2 and my 260s at 756core (overvolted). I give up. This game is broken. I couldnt even stand to watch it the 2nd time through. I'll run vantage 1 more time when i get my tri-sli set up and then i'm uninstalling it because its just dumb.

is that the default settings score?

what is your cpu score, my phenom cpu score is 41907
if yours is not better than that, then something isnt right.

my outright best score was 15,633 or so, and thats with one card.

be sure your physX is turned on for vantage.

re: The Official Tech-Forums 3DMark Vantage Rankings

Just built my system 2 nights ago.

I have a:

Intel Corei7 920 @ 2.67Ghz
6GB of DDR3 Corsair Memory
NVIDIA GeForce 260 GTX OC 896MB X1
500GB WD HD 7,200rpm
950W PSU
Integrated Sound and NIC as of now on an MSI MB
All this in Antec ThreeHundred Chassis with an extra 120mm fan
Windows Vista Home Premium

Im only getting about 14780 with 3dMark06 anyone got an idea as to why that is?? I was running it at 1680X1050 at the time on default settings. I see single 8800's on here with shittier systems then mine getting about that or higher. I haven't overclocked anything and don't plan on it, but was just wandering why my score is so low?? Thanks!

your answer is bolded.

overclocking high end hardware really boosts your scores, especially your cpu.
i get 13k with everything @ stock on my rig, and 15,633 with a good overclocked cpu/gpu, specs in sig.

if you want better performance, atleast bump your cpu up to 3.0 or so, this is easy to obtain with stock cooling.

edit: edit, thought this was the 3dmark06 thread

17k is a really good score with onex 280/285, so your score isnt that bad

re: The Official Tech-Forums 3DMark Vantage Rankings

Ah ok...yeah I didn't want to mess with it because of insufficent cooling. I added one 120mm fan to the case but other then that its all stock. I hear the 260 gets freakin hot as is so I am a bit scared to OC that as well. I'll look into it. Thanks! So that score isnt too bad with no OCing im guessing?
