GREAT NEWS... I PLUGGED IN THE E8500.... DIED ON ME IN 10 MIN... MOTHERBOARD WILL NOT BOOT.... i tried a friends q6600... BOOTED JUST FINE..... so i'm pretty angry.. i'm returning it.. and pocketing the money and not buying a cpu for a while.... i don't know what i want anymore... god dangit

edit...

e8500 is alive and i've just done a fresh reboot.. now installing drivers... needa flash my bios to get the cpu to do 9.5 multi... i will be back with a quick pi run

my vid blows.. 1.225....

idle temps in real temp and core temp are 30 and 20... i must have horribly applied the paste...

i can't do any ocing until i do a bios update.. which is in the works

I just bought an E8500 :/ 99.50 quid shipped which is an amazing deal, especially for a brand new retail one sealed.
