i tried changing the voltages through rbe to 1.2... and my god.. thought i ruined my cards... lol... my computer wouldnt boot to windows unless it was in safe mode...

i just uninstalled the drivers for my vid cards and had to reflash em.. lol... i'll just do a voltmod instead of that bios crap!

the bios flashing in combination with voltmod/pencil mod is pretty useful to keep idle voltage down.

I have it set to .892V idle but with the pencil mod I idle at 1.06V and get 1.41V load...that way I get awesome temps

The lowest i can get my card on air with my room super cool and my fan on 100% is 54C load/43C idle. And the 8800GT runs a good 10C cooler than the 4850.

with my fan on 70 percent i my 4850 was at 47c... sooo naked case of course...

Same here. I get around 44c idle with acellero and a scythe strapped on.

i have a 1gb...lol you cant use a 512 bios on a 1gb, either. much to my chagrin heh.

I dont get how some people claim idle temps under 40C on air.

I just dont see how its possible, i mean i have a pretty good air cooling setup.

Not that it matters much to me anyways.

They must know something we don't. I mean I don't know how much better you can get air wise, than 4 copper heatpipes and 110cfm.
