Ok, so looking to expand my OC'ing experience to some older comps, I've picked up some mobos dirt cheap and want to start playing around on a minimal budget build...the less the better.

My question is what are the best OC chips for a socket A mobo? The lines I saw are the Durons, Thuderbirds, Palominos.

I'm looking for end result so right now my options for the Soltek SL-75DRV are the above three types. According to AMD it's compatibility tops out at at the Palamino XP2100+.

So...
Q1: Is this conclusion correct: Duron<Thunderbird<Palamino?

Q2: Does that change when OC'ing is brought into the picture?

Q3: How well does the Palamino OC? is there any reason to spend the extra few bucks on the XP2100 palamino instead of buying lower end one and OC'ing it to reach the 1.7 of the 2100?

The 2100 goes for about $30.00 after S&H which is about $20 more than I want to pay.
