I have just finished putting a system together and am trying to oc it. I have a striker 2 formula e8400 and 2gig ballistix 1066 pc2 8500 mem and an evga 8800gtx.
This is what I have done. I went into the bios and changed the oc setting to 20% which has boosted the voltage to 1.31. I know this because I am using the asus pc probe 2 and asus ai suite. When I reboot during the startup I think the system reads it as a 4.0 processor, it flashes pretty fast. ( can i pause screen during start up)
Here are my questions. The asus ai suite shows FSB @ 1600.03, 2400.02 MHz and 0400.01 x 06.0. CPU is @ 36C. MB @ 34C. I did change a multiplier in the bios to 6. I left all the ram timing in auto. Will I get any added benifit by changing the timing in manual? And do the idle speeds look ok.
