A noob question.

Hi, i got a question i know it''s kinda stupid but i'm willing to learn.
Here it goes i have a 256mb pc2700(166MHz) DDR-SDRAM memory card, but i wanna buy a other card a better one so this is the question does it matter what pc[number] it is? and if it's DDR cause i wanna buy a other 256 mb DDR pc2700 will it work with my card together so they're 512mb?

if you afraid to buy the wrong kind of ram then go to www.crucial.com and use the tool they offer that tells you what type of ram you need.

Well, you have to first find out what the max your boad supports is. I mean what speed PCxxxx it will go up to. If it only supports up to PC2700, and you throw a 3200 stick in their they will all downclock to the slowest one and you will be paying for something you arent getting. Check in the motherboard book, or give us the type of computer it is and we will find out.
