Default noob processor question

ive got an asus A7N8X deluxe with an athlon 2800+, im thinking of getting a better cpu, just wondered how i can find out what cpu's the mobo will accept

Well it'll show you in the mobo's manual and you could also look at or any other website that lists the specs on that board.

The furthest it'll go though is to a 3200+XP chip

Considering that's a waste of money, you may want to look into saving your cash and upgrading to a 64b chip.
You could overclock your 2800 to speeds of a 3200 chip, there's really no point in wasting your money, for such a small increase in speed.

If you have no further use for the chip, Overclock it and see how far you get, like said above, you could probably reach 3200+.

I think You can even hit more than 2.4 with a 2800+. I hit my 2500+ to 2.413 ghz. Your 2800+ should hit more than that.
