Default New pc advice

comp i'm looking to get, for 3d moddelling/games

specs-what i managed to come up with so far...(nothings final...)

AMD ATHLON 64 3500+ Socket 939


TwinMOS 1GB DDR-400 Dual-Channel Kit

Seagate 160GB 7200RPM IDE HDD 2MB

Sparkle GeForce "6600GT" 128MB

TASK Dual Fan Power Supply 420W

iCute 0311SL-WW

Philips 17" Real Flat CRT Monitor

ASUS 4x DUAL Layer 16X DVD+/-R DVD Writer

GENIUS EasyTouch Multimedia Keyboard & Optical Mouse Kit

These are just the first parts i found when i searched so
i'm not too sure.

any advice would be helpful

change the sparkle 6600 gt to an evga one itll run better, get a better psu like an antec or some other higher end 1. and for ram get cosair. mobo get either dfi lanparty ultra or abit an8

That motherboard gets good ratings, and I'm getting the one that is one rank above it. It will do everything you need i think.

I've got the sparkle 6600GT, and its got one of the better heatsinks from what ive heard and experienced

0o0, i would consider a new mobo. Something like a Abit AV8 or Abit AN8.

i need a pcie as well...
isn't the nforce 4 the latest?

there's a pixel view 6600gt and a MSI 6600gt for around the same price...(as da sparkle)

i suggest that u get a hard drive with an 8mb buffer instead of 2mb. it will boost preformance.

Gigabyte is good, but for motherboards they're not as fast as other motherboards. I would suggest maybe the DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D

is this hdd compatible ?

Samsung 120G SERIAL ATA Hard Drive 8MB 7200RPM (SP1213C)

if not any other suggestions...wats sata raid and does this
(GIGABYTE K8NF-9 nForce4) support it??
