need help with a MSI k8n neo platinum socket 939 motherboard

so this is my first build. i put all the parts in, one stick of ram. go to boot it up and it wont recognize my keyboard. so i tried a diff keyboard but still nothing, does anyone have any experience with this board or might have a solution?

Are you using a USB keyboard? If so, that is likely the cause of your problems.

Use a regular PS2 keyboard, and you should be fine.

If using a PS2 keyboard isnt working, then I'm not really sure what else the problem could be, and therefore wont know how to fix it.

The only other thing I can think of is a CMOS reset, which involves jumpers on the mobo. You can also do the same thing by taking the CMOS battery out for about 15 minutes.

ya i tried both of those, i used 2 diff keyboards, both worked on another system. one was usb and one was ps2. so then i decided to test my usb ports and they were messed up. i tested them by pluging in a usb mouse to see if the light would turn on. one of the usb ports was toast. so i rma'd it and am getting a refund and purchasing a dfi lanparty board.

p.s. the board has a clear cmos button so i did that and i took out the battery. didnt work.
