Need help findin a good Socket 478 P-4 !

I currently have a 1.8 ghz P-4 in it and i have overclocked it to 2.6 without losing any stability and using the stock hsf

Save money, and sell your 478 mobo and CPU and get a LGA775 mobo and CPU. The 775 mobo and CPU is generally cheaper than the 478 cpu's and mobos, and packs more performance.

IC i was however thinkin about switching to amd just for the gaming performance.

If your thinking Intel, then get a LGA775 no hands down. If your thinking AMD, make sure you get a AMD64 socket 939. An AMD64 3200 winchester would work great. Even a 3200 Newcastle. I suggest AMD, since they cant be matched at gaming.

yes, if you are getting intel, get lga775. if you are heading the amd way get the socket 939, so it would be easier to upgrade in the future.
