Default is that my problem???

alright.just got my cpu clocked up to 2.85GHz(from 133-142)previously,i could not start windows at 142mhz.loose my timings and set the memory clock to 133mhz and can be started, choices are auto or 133.WHY??timings from 2-3-3-6 to 2.5-3-3-6.lowest i can go is 2-2-2-5 and highest is running on 2x 256mb pc2700(333mhz)
from my mobo manual, they specify it because im using 333 thats why it is retarding me from clocking more?

CPU: C2D E8400 @3.8Ghz
MEM: 4x2Gb TeamElite @844Mhz 5-5-5-15
GPU: Sapphire 6950 2 Gb Dirt 3 flashed to 6970
HDD:Western Digital 2x500Gb
PSU: Corsair AX750 Gold
CPUCooling: Noctua NH-U12P
Casing: RaidMax Case

First of all you don't need to start a new thread, you could have just used the other one you already started. Anyway, yea the DDR333 is holding your back. Downclock your ram to 266MHz and the start overclocking the cpu from there, keep the timmings as loose as possible (highest numbers) so there's an increase in stability. When you've reached a maximum fsb:ram speed start tightening the timmimgs slowly to increase preformance.
