My first lapp

hey so i had to remount my cooler anyway so i thought why not, went to auto zone and they had a veriety pack of wet/dry of 220, 400, 800, and 1000 for $4. cut them into about 3" strips and taped them to a 5x3 pic frame pain

droped my maxtemp about 5C idle about the same, i got a mirror finish. ill post some pics tomarrow once my buddy gives me back my dig camera

edit: only negative thing so far was i cut my finger on my tunic heatsink

erm...might be a bit n00by in asking, but whats a lapp?

its basically making the bottom of your hsf and top of your cpu even and limiting groves in the cpu/hsf that are made when they cut it, as the groves trap heat. so its just making it very flat and even so there is optimal heat dispersal.

thanks and i just used the 220 to get the nickel off the cpu then went to 400
