Default My Fan Stopped

I overclocked my CPU from 2.5 to 2.65, but I underclocked back anyway.

The problem is, now my fan seem to stop, according to Asus Probe 2 and MBM5. But when I check the fan in the bios, it's still going, nothing wrong. WHY???

Should I take my computer apart and see, although I am not a computer expert.

Try upgrading yout version of asus probe. If you look on majorgeeks.com they have the most recent version of asus probe. Some of the versions they distrubute on the drivers cd are not working correctly.

So if your not running your heatsink, your CPU will definately melt? I was thinking of unplugging it at night so my parents wouldnt know i was gaming...

hmm... now that i think about it, that doesnt sound so smart... but yea will it melt?

Yep, it'll melt. If the heatsink isn't attached properly even in the slightest way, your CPU can literally fry itself in a matter of seconds.

If your fan is still running, I wouldn't worry about it.
