First of all, I'm a civil engineering student. The lowest form of engineering some have said. I'm not techie at all so be gentle with me.
I have one laptop for uni work. No porn, no games, MatLab, all that good stuff. I have another laptop that I use for everything else. Toshiba satellite c660. It's about 2 years old, still in good working order. I have always been a console gamer, thinking all good titles would eventually come to console. I recently found a game called DayZ . Been watching dayz videos every day on youtube. I really want to play it. My question is. What can I do to my old toshiba laptop to be able to run this game. Can any graphics card me made external? What adapter do you need for the external graphics card? I have a one terabyte external hard drive I could use with it. What about overheating? What else would I need?
basically all I want to do is run this one game at minimum settings with as little lag as possible.

What items would you use to do this, keeping cost in mind. Would it be better just to forget it, save up and get a proper gaming pc at some point?

Please note the below listed system requirements for DayZ:

Minimum:

OS: Windows XP or Windows Vista

Processor: Intel Core 2.4 GHz or AMD Dual-Core Athlon 2.5 GHz

Memory: 1GB

Graphics: Nvidia Geforce 8600GT or ATI Radeon 3650 or faster with Shader Model 3 and 512 MB VRAM

DirectX®: DirectX 9.0c

Hard Drive: 10 GB free space
