But remember, the oil can disaPate to the ambient all around the "case"/fish tank. So it basically has a huge rad.

You're thinking like a WC loop that only has the rad to disapate from..

Every project that i have ever read about using oil submersion, it wont passively dissipate enough heat. Even the Reactor project has active cooling for the liquid they use.

Really, the 2 i've read, never did. They just move the oil around the components.

But, i never read too deep into it.

The oil easily gets saturated with heat if you are not actively removing it.

At which point it becomes an insulator to cooling.

It was a novel concept when chips didn't put out much heat but now water cooling is a much better alternative.

just run a watercooling loop through the oil.. keep the cpu on water along with the video card.. then the oil won't heat up so much

I'd just figure that circulation the oil around the tank would allow enough dissipation on the 4 walls.

Tank walls are generally made of glass or plexy neither of which offers the kind of heat transfer or dissipation properties needed to counter the heat dump from all the parts.

No need to be a **** about it.
