After finding a article on Mineral oil cooling I became inquisitive and the more I think about it the more I think it'd make a great project and use for my old computer hardware.

I'm no chemistry major so my question is this:

What would be the best (if any) non conductive color agent to use in a complete submerged mineral oil set up?

silicon oil = more $? and I know food coloring won't work, it'll mold and also cause issues with my hardware, well if nothing else a few LED's will do the color trick :D

why not just have your oil colourless and put some food colouring in water then let it drip through the oil! :D it'd look sick

imo, if you want to tint it, use a colored film on the inside of the case.

Also silicon oil will give you better latent heat exchanges. It also won't eat away at adhesives.

Just remember that unless you have some form of active heat removal, the oil will eventually heat up to the point that it can no longer cool the components.
