Max Operating Temperature = CPU Temp or Core Temps?

Should I just stay clear of the maximum temperature with both Cores and CPU?

from what i have read you want to keep the cores atleast 15degrees below the tjunction under load. but even that at a prolonged period of time can wear out your cpu, but at the rate are going with tech what ever processor you have by the time you wear it out will be out of date; obsolete.

I guess I'll go by both Core and CPU temps then, since I'm running right below the tjunction for my proccesor, (15 degrees was a buffer zone for safety, doesn't really matter to me)
