Default Making external hardware out of internal hardware

I am currently modding my pc, and I want to make external hardware out of internal hardware. Now I have a problem, I will be using IDE to Usb 2.0 to hook up my hardrives. Although I dont know how to make or what kind of adapter I need to switch the wall plug power into the power needed to connect to the hdd(a 4 pin molex). Could anybody put me on the right track?

Thanks

sorry to burst your bubble, but this invention of yours has been around for a long time. it is a USB 2.0/ firewire box than can hold optical devices, HDD, and even laptop devices with an interface adaptor. its pretty inexpensive:

I have to ask... whats the point?
It seems like a nice way of making your PC slower... !?!

unless you want to be swapping stuff between a desktop sys and a laptop?
