So I've searched some threads, but haven't really found a concrete answer. Does lapping really make that big of a difference? What if the heat sink and CPU are already flat, does it still help to lap them?

and I was wondering about ram timings. How do I know what voltage to run my ram at? Is it the voltage specified in the specs for the ram, or is there a voltage to clock ratio. Can anyone link me to a guide, or explain kinda how timings work.

Sorry I'm horrible with memory.. I've never really looked into it. It's a lot more complicated then I thought.

CPU's are never "already" flat, and there are very very few heatsinks that are.

If you lapp a processor correctly and apply the proper amount of thermal paste, yes it does make a difference. My Load temps droped by 4C.

When you purchase RAM, the speed, voltage and timmings will all be given on the purchase page.
