ok so i have this laptop, it's not great for gaming, but it works (~9fps on a good day) i also have this desktop, it doesn't work (needs an OS) but i don't use it cuz the laptop is better. I was wondering if there was a way to get the desktop, to'think' it's a graphics card and to get the laptop to 'think' the desktop is a graphics card, and not use my no good POS x3100.

any input?

ubuntu 8.10
intel duo core 2.0ghtz
2gb ram
x3100 card

deasktop
no OS
amd athlon 1700
512 ram
ati radeon atlantis 256mb 1600.... something like that.

umm no i dont quite get what you are talking about the only thing i know of in existance of anything like that is the external gpu housing asus is either developing or has allready released. a cpu wont work like a gpu. u need a dedicated gpu, but your on a laptop you cant upgrade it. my recomendation save up 5/600 and build yourself a gaming rig that will slaughter yoru laptop.
