Personally i wouldn't go with intel but its your choice, get an eVGA or Leadtek 6600GT instead of the msi, they have much higher quality parts.

Looks pretty good overall.

Just like another post I just posted in, unless you are overclocking, just get regular generic/value RAM. It performs no differently than fancy-expensive RAM, except when overclocking.

That 350W PSU is cutting it really close. You have a pretty power-hungry system there. Go with at least a 400W PSU for that system.

Dont pay too much attention to posts that go something like, "Intel SUX, get an AMD." That system you have there, will be nice for anything, whether it be gaming, image rendering, multitasking......the list goes on

I would try to get a 6xx series chip so you have 64-bit when the new OS comes out. If you are not planning on OC'ing you could just get some valueram that would make up for the price difference.

that would work out great and looks awsome for overclocking and thats the one i am soon to upgrade to and has a better chipset too and lots of pata and sata 11
and also the eVGA 6600gt
and that is prbably one of the greatest chips i have seen im sure ill be able to get it very close to 4.0 on air cooling soo u will not be dissapointed with it when overclocking is very smooth.

New processor and Ram....with everything the same as above. I am currently looking for a decent case/400w PS. Do these specs look a little better.

I would go for this mobo. Has a new chipset so it will have better upgradability such as dual core and maybe even the new Conroe next year.

Oh yeah, I am also going with the evga video. I am researching the asus boards...thanks for the input guys...all ideas are welcome.

If ur more into video editing, creating, rendering, imaging, intel will be fine, even better in some cases. Both intel and AMD work. The setup looks nice, no need for dual core yet.. Keep that for your next upgrade. eVGA os great, u cant go wrong with them, they have good qulity stock cooling on the cards. Ram is fine if your not ocing or anything harcore.
