Default im gettin new comp, whats better?

im getting new comp i was wondering if the sempron 2800+ would have faster speeds than my computer now?

my current cpu is pentium 4 2.8A 400FSB.. super high multiplier at 28
will sempron 2800 perform better than this??

I was curious too, so I looked at some benchmarks.

It seems that this P4 barely beats the Sempron for gaming, but for actual CPU-intensive work (decoding, etc), the P4 blows the Sempron away.

I would keep your P4, because it is a better performing CPU.
