HT and OC stability

I've noticed when i lower my HT multiplier from default 5x to 3x, i am more stable when i get up to and past 2.6GHz. will getting the extra 10MHz or so out of my processor outweigh the benifits of higher hyperthreading? should i leave the HT at 5x and be happy around 2.55GHz?

i know i could benchmark and find out, but i figured i'd just ask. i'll end up seeing for myself eventually, but its time consuming!

hmm...I'm wondering the same. My X2 3800 is at 2.5GHz, but i can't MATHEMATICALLY make it go faster lol. It' like..this...or 2.8GHz. (10x multi is the only one that posts)

HT is not HyperThreading, it is Hyper Transport. basically your FSB multiplied by the HT multiplier should be kept as near as possible to 1000MHz.
