How much longer will the opterons last

I think I read somewhere that s939 chips will linger at least until the end of 2006. I bet they go well into 2007. Too much of the market can't afford a hugely fast AM2 rig. I know they'll have lower processors, but what about upgrades for s939? They'll be around till the end of the year at least.

I heard they were going to start making semprons on socket AM2, and just bypass socket 939... This is hearsay though, so I don't know.
