Hi everyone. I am about to start shopping for my first computer build. I am on a tight budget so this mobo is the one that I can afford at the moment. http://usa.asus.com/products/mb/socketa/a7v400-mx/overview.htm
I will buy a AMD 2200 XP. Do you guys think that I am going to have any problems with it? Does someone here tried this mobo before?
I already have the atx case, HD, RAm, CDrom, Diskette.
Thanks in advance.

yes those two are compatible :).. and asus is a reliable ocmpany... at least they used to bee... i think that you should go with an abit instead... u can get one for just about the same price range... just go to http://www.newegg.com and look thru all the socket a mobos they have :)

Okay get this Mobo- http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-127-167&depa=1

ABIT is known for it's stability.

And this CPU- http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-439&depa=1

The mobile processor uses less power, causing less heat meaning you can overclock it easily to 2.2ghz (stock is 1.8).

With that combination you can overclock that mobile processor to 3200 speeds with stock cooling (except you don't get that with OEM).

Get this CPU hsf- http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=35-106-037&depa=0

You wont regret getting this stuff, It's what I will be upgrading to soon.

go here instead:

But lazerman recommended the perfect combo. The ABit board should be way more stable and the CPU that he recommended for it should be great. That's what I plan on getting myself actually.

The link I gave you has the NF7-S2 board from ABit and they'll automatically upgrade you to the NF7-S2G but it looks like they are out of stock (of course a week before I'm gonna order it :/ ) hopefully it comes back in soon

ASUS sucks now, they used to be good, but you'll find terrible tech support and probably compatibility issues with any previous gen graphics card. I've already helped 4 people in these threads alone with that issue.
