Red face how the **** do i measure a computer fan???

well. do i measure the side of the square where the fan sits in. can someone plz post a picture of where to measure.

not totally sure what you mean, but the size of say...a 80mm fan, is the whole thing, not just the blades, the blades them selves would be say...70mm

well the fans may very well come in 120 mm, those seem to be the two standard sizes, 120mm, and 80mm.. but you could clearly tell the difference between the two...

There's many different sizes. Case fans are mostly 80mm, 92mm and 120mm. There's also 60mm fans for CPU's.

you measure the side of the fan. don't take the measurement exactly, just get an approximation. 60mm, 80mm, 90mm, and 120mm are the most common fan sizes
