Default How Do I know if My Power Supply is strong enough for Overclocking?

I've been doing a lot of overclocking lately, but I am beginning to wonder if my computer is holding me back from overclocking more because of the Undependable Power Supply. I have a 550w Lead Power PSU, but I have noticed that the voltages move up and down A lot, especially when using a lot of voltage.

How can i tell if I need a better brand of PSU or not? How are the voltages supposed to fluctuate?

Dangit! People have hit 2.7GHz with this CPU and I can't get mine much farther than 2.5GHz! What am I doing wrong?

if the voltages move a lot, it's not good for overclocking.
a stable PSU means less chance of your CPU producing errors. even at stock this is true.

I believe 2.7 is one of the highest on air so far now. I can only get mine to 2.53ghz Prime95 stable, but I could do more, if I had different ram. I believe even with watercooling any much more then that (2.7ghz) is almost not possible.
