help with my RAM

i have just bought 1GB of DDR400 RAM
i have a Nforce3 mobo which if you google youll see it supports DDR400 RAM
however in my bios the most i can set my RAM to is 250Mhz (200 defualt) and at 250 it doesnt post but one down from 250 is 233 at it runs fine at 233 but why cant i run it at 400Mhz do i have to change the other settings, all i know of is the clock speed i dont know to much with RAM, help is appreciated

DDR which is double data rate. So DDR400 is double data rate 400. So 400/2 = 200. Your RAM is running at it's normal speed when it's at 200Mhz.

so in CPU-z when it says under memory

frequency - 219.3MHz thats ok and the added extra is wher i have unintentional overclocked it?

Exactly - 200Mhz is the intended frequency.
