wait a bit for Athlon 64 Venices (they should be out in just over a week) and get a 3200+

get an eVGA or BFG 6800 GT in PCI-E

2x512MB PQI, OCZ or G.Skill RAM

DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D

Seagate 120 or 160GB SATA

use the sound card that comes with the motherboard (it's 7.1!!)

second hand 21" CRT, or new 17" or 19" CRT or LCD - if it's LCD, get one with at least 16ms response time. 12ms is really good, and 8ms is even better (although usually expensive)

any case you like

at least 480W Antec or Enermax PSU

LG 4163B DVDR/RW can burn +/-/RAM at 16x, and dual layer at 4x

Logitech X-620 speakers
