does the temperature of the harddisk plays an important role in the performance of the computer?.mine idles at 31-32 in everest.is it good enough or can be better like going down to 20+?whats the temps of you guys?

hard drives seem to take a lot of punishment so your temps are fine, Iv seen many that run 50C+ and last years.

My old 40GB Maxtors can go up to 44C (38C idle), my newer ones (160GB, 300GB) go up to 38C (32C idle), and my Hitachi 80GB idles at 29C and maxes out at about 36C.

It doesn't affect performance I think, but they will wear down faster.

30-35 is perfectly fine.

HDD temps only determine the life of the drive. A hot drive = sort lifespan.
