Ok first off i would like to ask with buy a new hard drive i found a SATA hard drive and a IDE and they have the both specs 80 Gig 8Mb buffer and with a little price different and i herd the SATA would preform 5% increase of data transfer is this true?

Also how would i go about cleaning bad sectors of a IDE hard drive can any 1 give me a good program!?

It depends on the disk. You will have to lookup the specs on seek/read/write etc speeds and times.

You cannot clean bad sectors. You can mark them using the chkdsk /r command under CMD.

Go to start>run
type: CMD

type: chkdsk /r

(don't forget the space between chkdsk and /r)

the parameter is '/f' not '/r'

I personally like Seagate's drives; they were one of the first to have SATA, and their SATA wasn't just adapting from paralell ATA so they actually got ATA150 speeds
