hard drive problems

hello again, im trying to put a 20 gig harddrive into my old pentium 2 but there is no system file, no FAT, FAT32, or NTFS, and it wont let me do anything. i tried using the windows 98 boot diskette and using fdisk but that does nothing to it, under system it sais unknows instead of FAT, or FAT32.. can someone help me plz

try hookin' it up as the slave to a different computer, and format IN windows. then hook it back up to your p2 and try installing 2k or xp from the cd.

tha's just something iwo uld do, never had that problem...

no i tried that and it didnt work but i fixed it, turns out it was something in the bios so i used another computer and booted from the cd and deleted the partition that was screwd up and put an ntfs partition on it and got xp wirking fine...thx anyway
