how do you turn internal to an external is there special cables or somthing

No special cabling is needed. Just plug the hard drive into the cables in the enclosure and plug the enlsosure into your computer through USB or Firewire and you have an external hard drive.

that kingwin kh-350UF-S is nice. I noticed that it had firewire and USB. is firewire much faster than usb2.0? should i look into one with both options?

I think USB 2.0 is @ 450MB/s and Firewire is @ 400MB/s. Theres not much of a noticable difference. But your mobo has to support firewire or USB 2.0. I think your mobo supports both of those so nothing to worry about.
