Guidance: Sempron 3000+ OC

So I'm doing my research and I have questions on overclocking my simple yet beloved machine. Realize this is my first build and overclock. I'm not going big I just trying everything so next build I'm fully prepared and I DO NOT WANT TO PUSH THIS TOO FAR.

I came across a couple suggestions but this one seemed best suit for a beginner.

Now slowend had said to "bump" the cpu frequency up a little. Now how much would that consist of. Or is this not a good way to do it.

NOTE: IGNORE THIS POST ENTIRELY NOW. After much more investigation the conclusion is my board will not support ANY overclocking. great...

It's a FIC, K8MC51G.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect such a motherboard to have much capability.
