Got My Mobo Today ....

Plugged the floppy drive and RAM in with all the power connectors, power switch cable etc. What would happen if i plugged it in and pressed the power switch ?

Would any lights come on to show its working or will i damage something ?

It would probally just make some sort of beep indicating that there isnt a cpu and graphics card isnt connected.

Well, it would go "BEEEEEP "beep beep beep" telling you it doesnt know what to do.

it "should" work if the IDE controllers work.

it would verify the motherboard has power..

we are never safe until we hear that single beep and the post screen

I've turned on the computer I have in the other room, and by computer I just mean the motherboard because a friend is using the RAM and CPU, but I wanted to test out my PC Test Box I made so I powered it up using that box. It has a speaker inside of the box and it didn't make any beep when there was no CPU present. Don't know if it's just my board or if they only beep when a CPU is in there, but faulty.
