Course it wont do anything bad, it may not boot and youll have to reset the CMOS but thats about it - youre a wizard techie, so you should be able to fix that!

lol...I just never tried it before. But now I did and it didn't boot, so just reseted, and that's it.

What is your DDR Voltage - I vote for increasing DDR Voltage and giving it some more juice and seeing what you can get out of it when linked

I'd try stable @ 3.6ghz

While it is possible, it is HIGHLY unlikely that SMP Folding will be stable on those settings for 2 to 3 days.

We can hope though.

I was able to stay in 3.6GHz for a few hours, until I ran SMP. But I'm back to 3.4, and I plan on going to 3.6 or 3.5 when I get a new case and CPU cooler, because the temps aren't where I like them.

yup, windows SMP doesn't seem to like High OC's. At least the instances Ive seen. And my own personnel Experience...
