I have like 80 bucks left over including rebate but shipping is like 55 bucks so i got like 25 after rebate. Anyway is it a good build. Im putting $500 into this pc and my dad is putting in the other $1500. Could i still build a good pc, almost as good as this one for 1500. Is this a good build for the price?

just make sure to over clock the 4000 and you will have an fx ....

go for 2x1gb rather than 4x512mb

The less memory slots you occupy, the better.

Don't forget as5 or windows if needed. Yep ^^^ above sounds better so in the future you can upgrade to 4GB. Looks good to me.

The 4000 is a athlon fx-53 with locked mutiplier so in that sence it already a fx. In my mind it could never be a fx because the whole point of a fx is for overclockers that want unlock mutipliers on a high end chip. The athlon 64 4000+ will never be that.

get a 3700 san diego instead of the 4000 and save urself sum money! not much of a performance difference to justify a $200 difference.

Sure is a good system but thats just some of the things u need? You need harddrive, windows, speakers, monitor, keyboard/mouse? so your spending 2000 but do you already have everything else?
