I NEED A NEW PC!! im building my own gaming computer so i can play and run the latest games in a good resolution with it being SMOOTH!! im not sure if this is going to be good enough or not.

I already have the motherboard, its an Asus K8VSE Deluxe (Socket 754)

this is the rest of the stuff im getting

Sapphire ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB DDR TV-Out/DVI - Lite Retail

Wud All this S*** connected to a motherboard run quality games like the new half life and doom 3 smoothly in a good resolution like 1024 x 768 at 80+ fps

yes it nice, but the 9800 pro dusnt cut it anymore! the 6600Gt or 6800gt are better

yeah, the 6600GT tears appart the 98xx series, and any other cards below them, its only slightly more expensive as well.

yeah they would run great, but...you know what'll run better? if you get a 939 socket instead and run the ram in dual chanel THEN you'll be rock solid, just get a nice dfi or abit and you'll be great for gaming

if you get the dfi you can run sli and get two 6600's or two 6800's or one 6800 and then another one later, that'll truly be an awesome rig. good luck :)

With a 6600GT it would run stuff fine.

Don't get a 9800pro, espisally if you want to play doom3

the motherboard i got only supports +1.5v graphics cards so im gunna sell that and go for 20mm's idea and get a socket 939 motherboard and then get the Asus N6600GT TOP GeForce 6600 GT 128MB DDR TV-Out/DDR,

are u sure 128mb is fast enough?? also whats the best 939 motherboard

get the evga 6600, it'll oc better if you chose to.

are you gonna get two 6600's and sli them or get one later. most games don't even use 256mb so you should be fine but if you want the 6800 runs at 256. then you can get another one later then have two 6800's at 512mb.

Don't bother with SLI. It's a complete waste unless you have pointless money to blow. Get a socket 939 motherboard with a PCI-Express video card slot. Don't get AGP. Then get a 6600GT PCI-E, or X800 XL PCI-E. Those are the 2 best deals as far as PCI-E cards go. And I don't want anybody to argue that. Good choice of RAM. But for your hard drive I wouldn't get one 160GB.
I would get two of these and put them in RAID 0 because they will offer you the same storage space but will be MUCH faster than a single drive.

And if you really want a video card cooler, then I would recommend this as it looks very nice.

I'm not sure about your CPU cooler either, this here is one of the top-of-the-line COMPLETELY silent CPU coolers (even at full speed I can't hear it, and the rest of my case fans are 21dba so it's very quiet)

Make sure to get some Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound as well. Took my temps down about 6C or so.

Would also recommend a better power supply, here is one of the best:

Lastly, I hate wireless keyboards and mice, but your call on that.
