Default Gaming lag!

Well, I just ordered my new 7900 GS card from Newegg about a week ago, and it kicks ***.

I ordered it, because my old 7300 LE TC couldn't play battlefield 2 without crashing constantly, or locking up my PC. Well, I can play without crashing, but man I get the most RANDOM lag EVER! I don't know what it is, but Everything gets really slow and skippy for like 2 or 3 seconds, and then goes back to normal, and it happens a LOT. I don't know what's wrong, I thought this new graphics card would solve all my lag problems, but I guess not.

My ping is around 40, so I don't think it's my actual internet.

I will post specs..

Specs are an attachment (Text document).

Hmmm the 2 to 3 seconds slow and skippy sound's really familiar with me. I have a Nvidia GeForce 6200 and that's basically all I get...You shouldn't be lagging at all with the 7900GS..It's in the same section as the 8800's basically...So it has to be something else...Maybe slow internet connection..? Go to speedtest.net and test your internet connection speed on there.

For example, here are my test results:

erm, I can't seem to come around to the fact that my random skipping in games is due to my 1g of RAM.

I have never heard of that happening, gaming lag because of RAM, unless it's drastic differences, but I mean I have 1g.. I could buy 1g, but I doubt that would do much to help me..

any help?

The RAM would probably help. Other than that your upload speed is kind of low. I'd recommend at least 500kb/s up for smooth mutliplayer play.

Other than that maybe the HDD is doing something weird or dying. Can't really fathom anything else.

Well, I guess I could give a shot at playing with bots for a bit, and see if I still get that lag..

If I do, then it's my system, otherwise.. it's my internet..

I AM running wireless, but at the time playing I had a "Very Good (3/4)" signal, one away from "Excellent" strength..

I know wireless isn't the best for gaming, and I have a pos wireless adapter..

Please keep the suggestions coming. thanks for the help so far.
