I'm planning on building a new computer, for gaming, and I need some advice on what parts to get.

I already know what case/power supply/CD-R/HDD im getting

I need the following:

  • Mothboard
  • Video Card
  • Sound Card
  • Network Card
  • Processor (AMD only)
  • Memory

No monitor/mouse/keyboard/printer/etc.

Budget is $500-$600. But, of course, I want to minimize cost as much as possible.

any good references?

for 500-600, you will have a gaming computer, but i beg you not to even install any games from this year or the years to come hehe, perhaps try to get a little more money?

ok, I got a MoBo, Video, and SoundCard, and nevermind the memory picked out...

Mobo: ASUS A7N8X-VM
Video: ATI 9800 128M
Sound: SoundBlaster Audigy LS

any tips on a networking card? i think i know what processor im getting too...

Here's my spending plan:

Case < $35
Motherboard < $120 M
SoundCard < $80
Network < $80
HardDrive 80GB < $100
CPU < $100

Thats a total of < $515
