hi im a noob here but i recently built my own system and i was wondering a few things about the front side bus

i use the AMD Athlon 64 3700+ processor (2.4 Ghz) and it says 1600Mhz fsb support. my motherboard also says it can support a 1600 Mhz fsb. but when i check my fsb, it says its running at 200Mhz with a 12x multiplier. why is it not using the full 1600 Mhz?? what can i do to change it?

Don't worry, it is. 200 is the pre-effective mhz clock. And technically, you don't have a chip with FSB technology. It's been changed a little, and it uses Hyper Transport technology.

so the 1600 bus thing doesnt matter? there is no way to change it to the full 1600 MHz? how do i know the hyper transport is working?

It is. It's already at 1600mhz. Don't sweat it. It's semi-complicated. Run a google search if you want to learn how it works and why it is '1600mhz'
