fsb on q6600

But he's overclocking with a quad core. I'm not sure if a quad core can go that high, with stability.
 
true enough. i have read somewhere about a newer mobo capable of reaching over 500 fsb...cant remember which one it was, though. and also i am unsure if it was a quad core being tested. thats pretty blistering.
 
The thing about a quad core reaching those speeds is heat. I think the heat is what will prevent the overclock from going further.
 
yessir, i would imagine that it generates a great deal of heat at that high of a clock. really, i bet they are pretty warm all the time.
he could always wrap ice in saran wrap...
 
Yea....Only the extreme editions can change the multiplier. I think, although I'm not sure, you can't increase, but you can lower the multiplier on the Q6600.
 
yeah ok cool. when i finished biulding it, when the parts come next week know ill be having a thread about o/c it lol
