Basically what I wanted to do w/ the old pc is use it for media storage and network it into my current pc. It would be like having a server for only myself... which sounds stupid now!!
I bought the second 80 GB HD for my current pc for storage... but I am really afraid something is going to happen and I'll lose everything that is on it. Maybe I should start a new post in another topic about storage possiblities I can explore.
