k..i have recently built my first gaming PC...and it worked fine up until a month ago..it started overheating, and my active monitor keeps going berserk, my cpu is a P4 2.8ghz w/ht, and i have two case fans, one is 120mm, the other is 80mm should i get a bigger fan or a new cpu fan and heatsink? ... if anyone has advice plz help

the 2 case fans should be more than enough to keep it cool. like you suggested invest in a new heat-sink and fan for your processor.

post a picture of the inside of your pc.

oooo, the pic would really help.

buy the new heatsink and see if it cools down.

not really, just wanted to see how crowded it was. can't you just borrow someone's digital camera or something.

or just buy the new heatsink, if it still overheats, we'll have to look more in depth on your heating problems.

hmmmm... i will open it up if its crowded should i tape the wires back or try to push them away?

yea, try to push(not tape) all the cables out of the way of your processor, your chipset and your video card. do you have a sata drive??
