Final Check On My Build

Ok, change of plans. I think I'm going to stick a GeForce 6800 Ultra in my build instead of an x850 XT due to my frustration with ATI's lack of Shader 3.0. Do you think this is a wise decision?

I plan on getting this card:

Yeah that should be ok, the 850 has a built in fan, and your heatsink should keep your processor cool enuff.

Go w/ AMD 3200 or 3500 and OC to 4000, rather than blow 400 on a 4000.

Or go with the 4000+ and over clock it equal to the 3200+ and you got a faster CPU.

I think it is a much better idea to get the 6800 Ultra. The lack of Shader model 3.0 really sucks for all ATI users and a lot of games are using it. I think you are making the right decision by switching. Although you could get a 6800GT and OC it to Ultra, it looks like money is no object.

just get a 6800GT, it's good enough

also, get a dfi lanparty for a mobo instead of the MSI

in addition, you can just cut back on the sound blaster, since i think the onboard will sound very much like it
