My only big doubts lie in my video card and OS selections. I realize that ATI cards don't have shader 3.0 support, but it seems like the current-gen nVidia cards have such poor support for it that it doesn't even really matter. And I've been waiting so long that I just don't feel that I can wait another 3 months for the next-gen G70 or r520 cards to come out. And also, do you think that xp-64 will have better driver support any time soon? I've heard that right now it's quite poor.

Thanks for reading through all this if you did, I know posts like this get to be a hassle; just seems like this is the best place to come for this sort of thing. Your feedback is much appreciated.

i would dump that corsair ram and get sum gskill instead. they are much better. apart from that that system is gonna be very very nice.

Seems like money is not much of an issue. I would Get OCZ Platinum Rev2 or G Skill LA RAM. Thats if you will be OC. If not XMS will work, just make sure its 2-2-2-5.

yeah but the OCZ Platinum Rev2's are the same price as the corsair he has listed, and the OCZ will OC a helluva lot more

Thanks for the replies about the RAM; I'll definitely go with the OCZ since it's only 2 dollars more.

Yeah that should be ok, the 850 has a built in fan, and your heatsink should keep your processor cool enuff.

Go w/ AMD 3200 or 3500 and OC to 4000, rather than blow 400 on a 4000.

Depends what type of 120mm fans they are. Depends even more where they are positioned.

Well, with the case I'm getting, it's got (as far as I can tell)relatively high quality 120mm fans, one positionable anywhere on the front and one on the back. It also has a 90mm in the back, and one on the top. It's also got a bunch of ventilation, as basically the entire front is a ventilation grill as well as a large portion of the front and back. I can't find anywhere that says what kind of 120mm fans in particular they are though(ball-bearing or whatnot). Is there anywhere I can find that out? And will that make a significant difference in their effectiveness?

Here is the official site of the case:
